In 1946 a Committee to investigate the possibilities of getting a Temple in Albany to serve Southwest Georgia was established.

In December of 1946, after considerable work and study applications were received from the Imperial Council.

Charles W. Pidcock, Eugene Able, J. Neely Peacock, and others took the lead in getting Hasan Temple assisted by several others interested in getting a new Temple.

The committee presented their request to the Imperial Council in the Civic Auditorium in Atlantic City, New Jersey and the request was turned down. The group came back, regrouped, and got more signatures - a total of 810 members signing the request for a new Temple. Noble Charles Pidcock was the new leader and with everything in order they requested a U. D. for a new Temple to be known as HASAN. This name was selected by Jim Shinkle T. C. Lackland. The U. D. was granted June 22, 1950, in Los Angeles, California. One year later, Hasan met the qualifications of the Imperial Council and our Charter was granted July 12, 1951, in New York City.

We are real proud of the growth Hasan Temple has made since 1951. We started with 810 members - the smallest temple in Georgia - and today we have over 1,200 members.

In 1951, Hasan started with no money, no property - we just started. Today, we own our own Mosque located in the northern part of Albany on 14 beautiful acres of land. We do not owe a dime to anyone and we have a nice savings account for a rainy day.

The Nobles of Hasan Temple have done an outstanding job, working with our Potentates and Divans to make the progress we have made.

Shown below is the first request for a new Hasan Temple - this request was made in Atlantic City in 1948
